February 2008 NEWS

Cut the Crop News - February 2008
I can hardly believe that February is already here. As I plug away at Cut the Crop and try to make improvements on how we do things, I have decided to try using the BLOG for the newsletter instead of having to type up two different things and try to make sure that all the information is posted where it needs to be without leaving anything out, so for this months NEWSLETTER I am trying it out on the CTC Blog to see how it goes.

Cut the Crop Happenings

We had an on-line crop January 26th and 27th, hosted by Jennifer Hithcock. She did a great job & posted TONS of games, challenges and on-line chats. This crop was our biggest success to date. We had an early bird special SALE on our past monthly kits plus two other GREAT big sales. We crowned Teresa Mats "Queen of the Crop" she won a gift certificate to Cut the Crop for all the challenges she completed. Shannon won the random gift certificate Jennifer handed out. Kelly was the winner in our chat room and won a goody bag from Jennifer. We really had a great time.
We will try for our next Crop sometime in March or early April.
Thank you to all who participated, that is what makes these so much fun! Cut the Crop has some really nice, friendly people who inspire and support each other in our scrapping adventure. A great BIG thank you to Jennifer Hitchcock for all your work and for your inspiration during your term as a Design Team Member at Cut the Crop!

Contests:
As you know we host 4 regular contest every month and several other challenges during the month. Trish Widell hosted "Will you be my Valentine Card Contest". The winner was Melissa (spmissy)

I hosted a magazine challenge from the Memory Makers February 2008 magazine. The challenge was to incorporate these three techniques. Dribble-Paint Writing, Crumpled-Paper Flowers, Hand-Stitched Letters (or anything hand stitched) The MB members VOTED for their favorite one. The winner was Kelly (iscrap). In the Spotlight Kit Challenge – Create from one of our kits (any month) and be featured on the Gallery & MB "In The Spot Light" The winner will get to show off their work, plus will win a $10 gift certificate to the Cut the Crop’s online store. Winner is chosen by Cut the Crop. This months lucky winner is Terri/Scrappyscrapper.

It is also time to send in your points for round 1 of the 3 month kit challenge AND send in your points for the 2 month sketch contest. The second round for each contest starts on February 1st. Wordbloom Contest

Design Team Updates

I had a great response from people & had many great applications. I have been keeping track and have chosen our FIRST Guest Design Team Member for 2008. You will see her creations in the month of March using our April Monthly Kit. You can look forward to one step-by-step project from her as well as a contest, challenge or game & tons and I mean tons of inspiration.

All the other applications I have received I will keep on file and continue to watch and make notes, you still have a chance to be chosen. I will continue keep the GDT application process open and see how it goes. From our GDTM I will eventually choose a design team for a longer term commitment.
